PC/104 Module Supports Local and Remote PCMCIA Cards

Ampro Computers Inc., the PC/104-based single board computer market leader and originator of the PC/104, PC/104-Plus, and EBX single board computer standards has announced the availability of the MiniModule/PCC. This PC/104 form-factor module provides highly flexible and reliable integration of up to four PC Card (PCMCIA) slots into PC/104-based embedded systems.
Local and Remote Configurations
The MiniModule/PCC was designed for maximum flexibility and supports two or four local or remotely mounted PCMCIA slots in any combination. Five different configurations are available.
Both the local and remote configurations provide for up to four PC Card slots per system. In the remote configurations, a 14-inch cable between the buffer module and the Remote Drive Module(s) allows flexible positioning of the PC Card slots to satisfy the unique layout requirements of each application's system enclosure.
Extensive Software Support
The MiniModule/PCC's PC Card interface controller is fully compatible with theindustry standard Intel 82365SL register set. As a result, the MiniModule/PCC is well supported by a wide range of operating systems, including Windows 98, Windows NT, QNX, and other leading RTOSes.
